Around the Field

Above: The preflight ready area on day 2 with Bill Lee talking to Fluker, Kruse, and Ascher.

Fog lay on the field both mornings. On the second day T. Ryan starts to run out the lines for a flilght in the practice circle while a few early-risers mill around the contest area in the background.

Visitors/Helpers from earlier days were here. In this photo Paul Burke on the left was a member of the US F2C team at the first control line world championship in Hungary. He is holding a replica of his 1962 Nats winning model. On the right Don Burke, his brother, holds the model he and Danny Jones flew at the third World Champs in 964. It was also in Hungary.
